Gives the Bulldogs a legitimate big-play threat at wide receiver along with Aryvia Holmes...a very sure-handed athlete who runs good routes and has great speed.

1999 (Junior): Finished second on the team with 17 receptions while averaging nearly 15 yards per catch...caught a career-high six passes in games against Elon and Liberty...hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass against Elon and added a 40-yard grab against Chattanooga...also rushed twice for 23 yards with his longest run of the season, a 20-yard gain, coming against Austin Peay.

1998 (Sophomore): Started all 11 games for Samford, finishing in a tie for third with Michael Watson on the team with 14 receptions...led the team with three touchdown receptions and averaged almost 23 yards per catch...his biggest game was at Troy State, where he had touchdown receptions of 47 and 69 yards...caught three passes, including a 16-yard TD, against Austin Peay...added three receptions against Nicholls State.

1997 (Freshman): Had nine receptions for 219 yards, leading the team with a 24.3 yard per catch average...caught two touchdowns passes against Jacksonville State and Elon...his 50-yard TD catch against Jacksonville State tied the game in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs went on to win, 17-14...had two receptions against Elon for 52 yards...his longest reception of the year was a 51-yard catch at Tennessee-Martin.

High School: Averaged 26 yards per catch at SBES...a first team All-State performer in the Mississippi Private School Association and participated in the MPSA All-Star game...was the MPSA 200-meter state champion in track three times and the 100 meters twice...chosen All-Metro in football in Memphis, Tenn., and was All-Conference in baseball.

Personal: Born November 3, 1978...the son of Monroe and Lynda Pointer...his father played football at Ole Miss...majoring in business management.
