Listed as the starter at halfback heading into fall practice...a player with great receiving abilities, made a successful transition from wide receiver to halfback last season.

1999 (Junior): Appeared in the final 10 games for the Bulldogs after overcoming a hamstring injury during fall practice...started the final six games...rushed 13 times for 68 yards while catching three receptions for 32...longest rush of the season was on a 20-yard reverse against Tennessee-Martin...gained a season-high 24 yards on three carries at Nicholls State.

1998 (Sophomore): Finished second on the team with 17 receptions...caught four passes in the season-opener at Chattanooga...added three receptions against Tennessee-Martin and Jacksonville State...added a 23-yard run against Mars Hill.

1997 (Redshirt Freshman): Was second on the team in receiving with 24 catches for 341 yards and one touchdown...caught six passes for 61 yards against Elon...his best game may have been his five receptions for 94 yards against Nicholls State...added four catches against both Tennessee Tech and Western Carolina...his longest reception was a 59-yarder against Jacksonville State.

High School: Rushed for a school-record 1,308 yards as a senior...gained 3,092 yards on 490 carries for his career...caught 27 passes for 387 yards, had 935 return yards and scored a total of 29 touchdowns...named honorable mention All-State and the Mid-State "Special Teams Player-of-the-Year."

Personal: Born July 25, 1977...the son of Curtis and Sharon Salter...a physical education major.
